Our client, with a substantial residence close to Lewes in Sussex, is seeking a Live-in Domestic Couple to assist with the smooth running of their busy family household.

The residence consists of 10 ensuite bedrooms (4 are used day-to-day) as well as 2 further guest bathrooms. The family is made up of 2 adults and 3 children (age 11, 12 and 14) as well as a friendly cat and 3 dogs, so Couples applying must be child and pet friendly.

There is a part-time Cleaner who comes in 3 days per week and a live-in Gardener.

Housekeeper/Cook Duties - not limited to:

• All aspects of hands-on housekeeping including vacuuming, cleaning, dusting, and polishing
• Laundry and ironing
• Wardrobe management
• Daily cooking of family oriented meals (when the family entertain the female principal cooks, you would be required to assist)
• Maintaining stocks of groceries/any other supplies – planning menus etc
• Ad hoc supervision of the children if/when needed
• Running errands/school runs

Groundsman/Handyman duties – not limited to:

• Assisting the Gardener
• Swimming pool and tennis court upkeep and maintenance
• Car valeting
• General maintenance of the external grounds
• Light repairs/handyman duties
• Occasional driving duties
• Running errands

The ideal Couple would be highly experienced and hands-on, and confident with managing a large and busy family household. Must be friendly, trustworthy, and smiley with a calm, sunny disposition.

During the week it is just the family in residence, but they do have guests over the weekend, although it is rare for the residence to be ‘full’, usually an extra 2 bedrooms used.

Driver would be essential – there is a car provided for work purposes.

Accommodation: 2-bedroom maisonette with bathroom, living room, kitchen, and utility room. No children. One well-behaved and trained dog will be considered.

Working Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am–6.30pm until July.  The family will then relocate and use the property at weekends and so the client would require weekend working with 2-3 days off during the week.

Salary: £70,000-£75,000 per annum dependent on experience
