We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced House Management Couple to join a small team based on a beautiful estate in Devon.  Either of the Couple are required to be a skilled cook.

The Estate is home to a professional couple who are passionate about the history of the Estate and the plans they have in place for securing it for future generations.

Both roles will be key to managing the smooth running of the property together with the general upkeep and security whilst providing a quality service to the principals and guests.

The Management Couple will form part of a small, friendly, and collaborative team who are invested in the daily and long-term running of the Estate.

Duties include, not limited to:

• Assisting Housekeeping team
• Cooking of fresh, homemade style meals, using local produce
• Providing table service
• Manage the household team including motivation, delegation, recruitment, induction, performance management and training of team members
• Ensure there is a plan and resourcing for daily household requirements, managing priorities at any given time
• Engage and oversee outside contractors, service providers and suppliers
• Write household manuals and use relevant IT systems for recording
• Report and consult with the Maintenance team over required maintenance, repairs, and projects in the house
• Responsible for maintaining the security and security systems of the house
• Responsible for the laundry, washing, drying, ironing and upkeep of linen stock and washing products
• Maintain household inventories for the property
• Responsible for the management of household vehicles and their maintenance and general upkeep, ie valet, servicing
• Undertake ad hoc duties in the absence of the principals, ie caring for dogs
• Excellent presentation of the House to include care of antiques, silver, and household items
• Ensure the right ambience is created through attention to fires, tidiness, and cleanliness
• Overseeing the smooth running of hosted events, parties, and dinners
• Undertake ad hoc tasks as required

The Couple will be required to work weekends, evenings, and on occasion 6 days a week when the Estate is at its busiest.  The principals are keen to ensure a healthy work/life balance and see that these hours will level over the course of the year.  A two-bedroom apartment is provided in the house, with own private driveway.

Contract: Permanent (40 hours per week). Live-in, 5 days per week. Flexibility to work extra hours/days when required.

Salary: £70,000 per annum.

Accommodation: Recently renovated, self-contained, 2-bed apartment within the main house with own entrance and private driveway.  One well-behaved dog will be considered.
