A proactive and capable Houseman/Driver is required to support the smooth running of a busy private household in Highgate, London. This is a hands-on role suited to someone flexible, well-presented, and happy to oversee the day-to-day operation of the home while also assisting with hospitality and occasional driving duties.

The successful candidate will be confident working in a semi-formal environment, liaising with guests and contractors, and ensuring the Principals are well looked after — particularly when they are working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the home, greeting guests and tradespeople, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
• Training and supporting the household staff
• Serving drinks, teas, and coffees throughout the day as needed
• Checking in on the principals during the day to ensure they are comfortable and supported
• Providing light kitchen support – particularly breakfast service – and stepping in if needed
• Knowledge and care of antique furniture and high-end finishes
• Driving duties as needed (e.g. school runs, errands, stepping in if the full-time driver is unavailable)
• General daily cleaning and housekeeping; keeping the property tidy and well-maintained

Candidate Requirements:

• Confident driver with a full UK driving licence (essential)
• Previous experience in a private household or similar environment
• Knowledge of caring for antique furniture and luxury interiors
• Discreet, presentable, and professional
• Proactive and service-oriented, with a flexible “can-do” attitude
