Junior Estate Assistant (Handyman)
Location: Hascombe, Surrey
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00
Salary: circa £35,000
Requirement: Must be a driver and based locally

Our clients, based in Hascombe, Surrey, are seeking a motivated and hands-on Junior Estate Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day running of their private estate. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills within estate maintenance, working closely with an experienced and supportive team including the Estate Manager, Estate Technician, housekeeping, and gardeners.

This role is ideal for a practical, enthusiastic individual who is keen to learn, grow, and build a long-term career within a private estate environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the daily upkeep and presentation of the estate alongside the wider team
  • Assisting with routine walkarounds to identify maintenance needs
  • Carrying out basic repairs and general maintenance tasks under guidance
  • Working closely with the Estate Technician on both planned and reactive maintenance
  • Providing regular updates to the Estate Manager on tasks and progress

Typical Duties Include:

  • Assisting with cleaning and maintaining outdoor areas such as patios and terraces
  • Supporting fencing repairs and general boundary upkeep
  • Helping with decking maintenance and pressure washing
  • Carrying out painting and general cosmetic improvements
  • Assisting with minor plumbing and basic electrical tasks (with guidance)
  • Supporting gutter clearing and basic roofline maintenance
  • Helping with seasonal upkeep across the estate
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and storage areas
  • Assisting with basic carpentry tasks such as minor repairs to doors, gates, and fixtures
  • Jet washing driveways and external areas
  • Supporting with basic checks and upkeep of estate vehicles
  • Assisting with deliveries, moving items, and general manual tasks
  • Helping maintain outbuildings, garages, and storage spaces
  • Carrying out routine checks such as replacing lightbulbs and ensuring systems are operational
  • Supporting waste management and organisation of refuse areas
  • Assisting with contractor visits and ad hoc tasks as required

Candidate Profile:

  • Keen to learn and develop practical skills within estate maintenance
  • Positive, proactive, and hands-on attitude
  • Basic DIY or maintenance experience preferred, but not essential
  • Strong work ethic with a willingness to take direction and learn from others
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and pride in their work
  • Must be a driver and based locally
