Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm (with 1-hour break 1–2pm) + 1 weekend per month

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and meticulous Head Housekeeper to oversee the smooth running of a fully staffed, modern private household set on 80 acres in Banbury, Oxfordshire. The household requires a discreet professional who can lead by example, implement efficient systems, and ensure the highest standards are maintained across all areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of 5 housekeepers, ensuring all duties are completed to the highest standard
• Inspect and check all rooms after completion, offering constructive feedback where needed
• Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and excellence
• Manage daily and weekly schedules for the housekeeping team
• Oversee laundry and wardrobe care, ensuring the correct handling of delicate and luxury items
• Ensure all high-end furnishings, finishes, and organic materials are cared for appropriately
• Liaise with other household staff to ensure seamless service
• Report any maintenance or property issues promptly

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in a Head Housekeeper or Senior Housekeeper role within a fully staffed, high-end private household
• Strong leadership skills with a gentle, approachable, and supportive management style
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to create and maintain systems
• High level of attention to detail and pride in work
• Tech-savvy with confidence working in a modern smart home environment
• Must be a driver due to location
• Pet-friendly – comfortable working around a large dog and two cats
