Live-in Cook/Housekeeper

Our client lives in a traditional country residence with beautiful gardens surrounded by countryside near Maidstone in Kent.

Most of the time, there are 4 adults living in the house.  There are occasional dinner parties and guests to stay or more intense periods when children and grandchildren are visiting.  There are other household staff - a maintenance man and gardeners who are responsible for the grounds and heavy work. 

Your responsibilities would be:

  • Larder and cooking
  • Shopping for all food and supplies (please note you must drive)
  • Generally caring for the house and it's contents (antiques and fine art)
  • Laundry, ironing, cleaning

A typical day would start at 7:30 am to make breakfast and a light lunch.  Also preparing and leaving something for supper.

Typically you would work 5 days per week (Monday to Friday).  However, once or twice a month there will be a dinner party or weekend working and then you will have time off during the week in lieu.

It is essential that you can cook to dinner party standards, and you must be highly organised with a positive attitude and welcoming personality.

Days of work:  5 days per week
Hours of work:  8 hours per day

Accommodation:  a very nice one bedroom flat with kitchen and large living room - separate entrance.  All expenses paid (except internet / SKY)

Salary:  £450.00 net per week

Starting:  ideally end of August / beginning September
