Live-in Governess/Tutor
Accommodation: Family flat in nearby village or access to villa close to family home
Working days and hours: After school weekdays during term time, intensive on Saturdays, occasional Sundays as needed
Dates: 6-month contract starting January 2026

Location: Milan, Italy (may also travel with the family)

Our client, a busy international family living just outside Milan with six children (ages 13, 11, 10, 8, 5, and 3), is seeking an experienced Live-In Governess/Tutor to focus on the education and academic support of the older children. This role will work in close partnership with the family’s nanny, supporting after-school routines, 1:1 tuition, and homework guidance.

Responsibilities to include:

• Providing 1:1 and small group tuition for the four older children (ages 13, 11, 10, 8)
• Supporting homework completion and study skills development
• Teaching key subjects: Maths and English for the primary-aged children; Science, Geography, and History for the elder two in Secondary school
• Developing bespoke learning plans tailored to each child, including SEN support (eldest child has ADHD)
• Coordinating with the nanny to ensure consistency across routines and educational support
• Occasional supervision and support of younger children if needed

Candidate Requirements:

• Experienced tutor or governess with strong background across both Primary and Secondary curricula
• SEN experience highly desirable
• Organised, disciplined, and able to motivate and engage children of varying ages and learning styles
• Preference for a male tutor
• Confident driver, as the family’s home is a 35-minute walk from accommodation
• Calm, patient, discreet, and professional
• Fluency in English preferred; Italian a bonus
• Non-smoker
