Oxfordshire, Henley-on-Thames, Salary circa £35,000 per annum
Start date: End of May, could be sooner.
Our client, whose family own a substantial Estate close to Henley, are looking for a live-in Housekeeper (separate accommodation) to ensure that one of the main properties - a large country residence with 10 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms - is constantly well maintained. The family of 6 have 2 dogs and a long-term Thai Nanny. Two of the children are at boarding school in the UK.
They, therefore, need a very competent Housekeeper who is happy and confident working solo in the residence ensuring the property is in a ready state at all times.
All housekeeping to a high level, and maintaining this when the family are not in residence.
Laundry duties, including all linen and hand-washing of fine fabrics.
Setting up rooms to standards when the family are in residence, or going to come into residence.
Able to work on your own and take things up a notch when the family do come into residence.
Happy to prepare food and assist with some light cooking on occasion.
Running errands on occasion, and ordering food shopping.
Keeping a snagging list of house defects and reporting these to the PA/Household Administrator.
This is a super role for an experienced Housekeeper with a fine eye for detail and strong work ethic. The priority is that you clean well and take pride in your work.
Days of work: You will be required to work a 5 day week, rostered in advance. One weekend off will be given per month, or more if convenient.
Hours of work: 8.00am-1.00pm, 2.00pm-6.00pm.
Due to the nature of the role, you will be 'on call' when the family is in residence so flexibility will be required but in return for this, accommodation of a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage is provided within the grounds but separate to the main residence.
Essential: You must drive (vehicle will be provided for work purposes only) and you must preferably speak excellent English.
Salary: circa £35,000 per annum
Council tax and water will be paid - other bills will be your responsibility to sort, however, a generous allowance is given to you for this purpose.
