Live-Out Nanny / Family Companion


Location: Rome, Italy
Salary: Circa €100,000 per annum + annual bonuses (self-employed; responsible for own taxes)
Hours: 6 days per week, with downtime during school hours if all tasks complete

Family Overview:
A warm, fun, and fully staffed family based in Rome, seeking an experienced and well-educated Nanny/Companion for our four children, aged 16, 16, 14, and 13. The family values a relaxed, engaging environment and enjoys meaningful conversation, including topics such as Economics and Current Affairs.

Role Overview:
This is a primarily companion-style role with varied responsibilities, requiring flexibility, a love of children, and a personable, laid-back approach. The ideal candidate is proactive, well-organised, and enjoys both hands-on childcare and lifestyle management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a companion to the children, providing guidance, support, and fun
  • School drop-offs and pick-ups
  • Support with life admin, shopping, errands, and packing for trips
  • Take the eldest daughter to equestrian events
  • Organise parties and family activities
  • Coordinate tutors for exams and academic support
  • Live-in childcare and parenting support during parental travel
  • Assist with family travel during summer holidays (up to 11 weeks)

Requirements:

  • EU passport holder
  • Driving licence required
  • Horse lover preferred
  • Comfortable with cats
  • Laid-back and adaptable personality
  • Well-educated and able to engage in stimulating conversation
  • Italian language skills not essential
  • Previous experience in a fully staffed, high-profile household an advantage
