Our client, residing in Mayfair, is seeking a Live-out Houseman to assist him in his apartment with housekeeping, maintenance, cleaning, light cooking, and general errands.

Main duties include but would not be limited to:

  • Responsibility for keeping the apartment and surroundings immaculately clean and tidy at all times; this will entail dusting, polishing, mopping, brushing, vacuuming and cleaning of valuable effects, leather care, solid wood floors, luxury rugs, marble and onyx surfaces, crystalline glass, mirrors, windows etc and all rooms of the apartment including kitchen, bathrooms, bedroom, dressing rooms, dining, lounge, corridor and garden area
  • Taking care of the laundry, changing the towels, making the bed daily and changing the bedding twice weekly with fresh sheets or as requested
  • Taking care of the Principal's wardrobe (folding clothes and store correctly in dressing room), polish and clean footwear, clean stains on clothing
  • On occasion packing clothes for the Principal and laying out clothes for occasions
  • Taking care of the Principal's supplements, gym drinks, protein drinks etc
  • Laying and clearing tables, washing of utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware at breakfast and lunch and dinner
  • Replenishing and restocking consumables including but not limited to: supplements, medication, toiletries, cleaning items, basic food items requested by the Chef, kitchenware and items requested by the Principal
  • Ensuring any basic DIY is carried out (changing light bulbs, repair fuses, fix loose cupboard doors etc) and ensuring that any damage /defects found are repaired
  • Working with maintenance contractors for electrics, lighting (Crestron system), heating and water systems (BMS alarm systems), air-con system, electronic shutters, indoor mini pool system, fire system and gardening plants / garden irrigation system as well as ad-hoc systems
  • Working with the building management on all aspects affecting the apartment
  • Keeping maintenance service areas clean and ensuring apartment temperatures consistent
  • Liaising and communicating with the Chef, assisting him at all times where possible
  • Liaising and communicating with the Business PA at all times including providing meter readings, giving household and private bill payments, and urgent mail to the office on a timely basis
  • On occasion: formal butler service to Principal for business dinners and lunches including washing of utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware
  • Taking the classic car for MOT / Service / filling up with fuel / ensuring battery fully charged possibly cleaning a second apartment in the same building (TBC)

Candidate requirements:

  • Meticulous, hard-working, dedicated, proactive, adaptable individual
  • Professional, respectful, trustworthy, reliable and very discreet
  • Self-motivated and composed - able to work in a quiet environment independently with little supervision
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience in care of high value items essential
  • UK driving licence essential
  • Fluency in English preferred - eligibility to work in the UK is essential

Employment Package:

  • Salary - £55,000 gross per annum
  • Discretionary bonus
  • 20 days holiday per annum, to be taken when the Principal is not in residence
  • Basic workplace pension
  • Usual work hours: 7.00am–3.00pm
  • Working days: Monday to Friday when the Principal is in residence, Saturdays and public holidays will be required
  • DBS check required prior to employment offer
