Live-out Private Chef
Central London, Salary £38,000-£40,000 per annum
We are searching for an experienced Private Chef to cook for an active Diplomat with high responsibilities based in London at their residence, and at a small but busy Embassy.
The Private Chef will prepare weekly menus, shop for ingredients, and prepare fresh meals. They will be able to adapt to the nutritional requirements of the employer and of their guests, and ensure the food is always cooked and served to the highest standard possible.
On some occasions, the Private Chef will cook for high profile guests, and impeccable preparation and presentation will be required. This role will suit someone with a positive attitude who is able to work autonomously, and has excellent manners. We are looking for a Private Chef who can cook simple and healthy food on a day-to-day basis whilst occasionally preparing more complex meals.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Buying ingredients and preparing meals on a daily basis accordingly to the employer’s schedule (some meals will need to be prepared in advance)
Dressing the table and serving the guests, or arranging for a Butler to be hired when there are more than 4 guests
Preparing canapés for receptions or aperitifs on an occasional basis
Cleaning the kitchen and keeping it tidy at the end of each work day
Keeping track of all expenses and preparing receipts and invoices for the Embassy accounting
Assisting the household and Embassy staff where required
The job holder may be required to carry out other ad hoc duties
From time to time the job holder may be required to work longer hours or on weekends/dinners; advance notice will be given
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-sufficient and versatile individual who will enjoy preparing meals for the Principal and guests, and overseeing the process from A to Z. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, have confident yet sympathetic manners, and be able to manage their tasks in a pragmatic and independent way.

Salary: £38,000-£40,000 per annum depending on experience
Permanent, full-time (9.00am–4.00pm, Monday to Friday) with some flexibility if entertaining on a weekend, late evening.
