Our client, with a residence in South Buckinghamshire, is seeking a Live-in Temporary Housekeeper/Cook to start ASAP.  The residence is a very large 6-bedroom home on 15 acres of beautiful grounds near Gerrards Cross (only 20 minutes on a train to Marylebone). Working days are mainly Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work. You must be a dog lover who is willing to feed, walk and care for the German Shepherd Dog in all weather. He is an indoor and outdoor dog who is a big part of the family.

Experience looking after such a large breed of dog is important. If the principal is not in residence then animal care will be required during the weekend.

Living in the property is 1 adult (plus extended family visit from time to time – 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren). Only part of the house is used unless there are visitors. No babysitting is required.

General duties required:

• Cleaning (dusting, mopping and hoovering) all bathrooms, bedrooms, and living areas,  
• Must have experience looking after marble and hardwood floors.
• Cleaning unused rooms as required.
• Cleaning inside windows
• Maintaining good hygiene practices in the kitchen
• Awareness of stock control and checking foods for sell-by dates
• Laundry, washing, and some ironing
• Cooking healthy, simple meals. Usually only one evening meal.
• Compiling grocery list for  food delivery which the client orders.
• Use of car for any errands.
• Feeding, grooming and walking the German Shepherd dog
• Willing to dog sit and stay on the premises at the weekends when the employer is travelling or away
• liaising with delivery and maintenance men.
• Contacting handyman or client if there are problems with the property.

Candidate details:

• High calibre, pro-active with the ability to undertake tasks without supervision
• Must be energetic and comfortable with a German Shepherd dog.(The dog is friendly and sleeps indoors).
• Non-smoker
• Enjoy walking and the outdoors
• Ability to be flexible with working hours.
• Must have verifiable references
• Driver with a clean licence (car provided for running errands)

Accommodation: Self-contained and separate one bedroom dwelling. Furnished with own entrance
Salary: £22-£23gph
Contract length: 3-6months
Working days & hours: Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work. Minimum 30 hours per week but this could be more depending on the principal’s schedule, so flexibility is key.
