A formal travelling Butler with fashion skills is required for our client in the Middle East. For cultural reasons, the client is requiring a male Butler. The key to this position is passion for details, and making sure all the necessary tasks are done to the highest of standards.

Duties include a mix of serving, inventorying the Principal’s wardrobe, providing fashion advice and follow up with orders and deliveries, packing and unpacking cases, traditional day-to-day Butler duties. Main working place will be at the Principal's residence.

The Butler will need to be hands-on, calm and organised, and be flexible regarding tasks required. A discreet, experienced and highly organised Butler is required to ensure the seamless running of the Principal’s life. An immaculately presented, sophisticated and experienced “right hand person” who is able to show tremendous initiative. Candidates might be required to make travel and social arrangements, and might travel ahead to ensure continuity of all residences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of etiquette and protocol and the ability to represent
  • Supervising/managing staff at the Principal's office and his household
  • General Butler duties such as serving tables, serving at table, taking care of the humidor and cigar inventory
  • Waiting at the table
  • Travel overseas, often on short notice and to act as the point person for the Principal on arrangements for travel, dining, shopping, wardrobe and packing, medication accessibility, IT, hotels, meetings and leisure whilst travelling
  • Taking care of the Principal’s wardrobe while travelling
  • Providing fashion/style advice, well versed in gentleman’s fashion, design and brands
  • Wardrobe management, inventory and organisation
  • Being responsible for the spotless presentation of the Principal’s surroundings
  • Styling of the house, lighting arrangements and moods (picture lights and evening lighting times and dimming)
  • Some PA duties might be asked such as organising reservations/bookings etc.
  • Organise and manage lunch & dinner parties
  • Preparing and serving tea and coffee for meetings and other functions
  • Coffee and cigar expertise are a plus
  • Meeting and greeting of guests
  • Liaise between the Principal and other employees and third parties to satisfy the wishes or needs of the Principal
  • Ability to read the mood of the Principal and adapt accordingly
  • Experienced in delivering a thoughtful, discreet and unobtrusive service
  • Discretion and confidentiality

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in working for UHNW families/individuals in private homes
  • Previous (long-term) experience in a similar role, preferred experience working at top luxury resorts and leading hotels of the world (such as Aman resorts or Mandarin hotels)
  • Energetic, but knows when to be discreet
  • Loyal, patient, and prepared to juggle different itineraries
  • Be able to think ahead at all times and see to the Principal’s every need
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Sense for the latest high-end fashion (minimalist, discreet fashion)
  • Provide styling advice and prepare outfits for travel
  • Confident to order fashion items and develop relationships with international fashion brands
  • Excellent English preferred
  • iPhone, iPad and Apple TV savvy
  • A passion for details, making sure all the necessary tasks are done to the highest of standards
  • Discreet, respectful and diplomatic
  • Immaculately presented, sophisticated and be an experienced “right hand person”
  • Impeccable valeting skills
  • Coffee and cigar expertise

This is a live-in position with food also provided.

Days and hours will be discussed at interview stage. There will be core hours but due to the nature of the position the candidate will need to be very flexible.

Salary on offer of £50,000-£55,000pa depending on experience.
