The primary focus will be preparing and serving dinner, alongside preparation for breakfast and lunch for the following day.

The Role

A private couple based in Knightsbridge are seeking an experienced and confident Temporary Cook/Housekeeper to provide cover while their permanent Cook/Housekeeper is away during October.

This is a predominantly cooking-focused position, and the successful candidate must be a capable and confident household cook who is comfortable taking responsibility for meal planning, food shopping and the day-to-day running of the kitchen.

Dinner is the key meal of the day and must be freshly prepared or prepared in advance ready for the principals to enjoy later in the evening. Depending on the working hours agreed, the role will also include breakfast and lunch preparation.

Once cooking and kitchen duties are complete, the Cook/Housekeeper will work alongside the existing Housekeeper to assist with the general upkeep of the residence.

Cooking Duties

• Planning and preparing high-quality daily meals (2-3 people)
• Preparing dinner each day as the main priority
• Preparing and serving lunch where working hours allow
• Preparing breakfast, or ensuring breakfast is organised for the following morning
• Menu and meal planning
• Grocery shopping and sourcing fresh, high-quality ingredients
• Managing food supplies and ensuring the kitchen is well stocked
• Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen
• Taking responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen

Housekeeping Duties

Once cooking responsibilities are complete, duties will include supporting the existing Housekeeper with:

• General day-to-day housekeeping
• Cleaning and maintaining the residence to a high standard
• Dusting, vacuuming, mopping and general cleaning
• Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms
• Keeping rooms tidy, organised and well presented
• Working collaboratively with the existing Housekeeper

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

• Be registered as self-employed and able to work on a self-employed basis
• Have previous experience as a Cook/Housekeeper within a high-quality private household
• Be a confident and capable cook with strong meal-planning skills
• Be comfortable independently managing food shopping and kitchen organisation
• Have excellent housekeeping standards and strong attention to detail
• Be organised, reliable and able to manage their time effectively
• Be discreet, professional and respectful of the principals' privacy
• Work well alongside another Housekeeper
• Be available to provide temporary cover throughout October
