Overview

A lovely private family based in South Kensington is seeking an experienced, highly organised and proactive Nanny to join their household on a long-term basis.

The family have two children, aged 7 and 10, with one child attending boarding school four nights per week. The children alternate between two family homes, spending one week at each property. The successful candidate will therefore play a key role in ensuring the transition between homes is seamless each week, keeping on top of all aspects of the children's schedules, belongings and day-to-day requirements.

This is an ideal position for an experienced, Norland-trained Nanny who enjoys a combination of childcare, family organisation and PA-style responsibilities. The successful candidate will need exceptional organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to anticipate the family's needs, ensuring the children are fully prepared and supported wherever they are staying.

Key Responsibilities

Childcare & Family Management

  • Providing warm, professional and attentive care for two children aged 7 and 10
  • Supporting the children's daily routines and ensuring their needs are consistently met
  • Coordinating the children's movements between the two family homes each week
  • Ensuring all necessary belongings, school items, uniforms, sports equipment and personal effects are organised and ready for each transition
  • Maintaining an accurate overview of the children's weekly and long-term schedules
  • Managing school diaries, appointments, activities, social commitments and extracurricular schedules
  • Liaising with schools, tutors, activity providers and other relevant contacts as required
  • Ensuring the children arrive at school and extracurricular activities on time and fully prepared
  • Supporting the children with homework and school-related organisation
  • Providing appropriate support and supervision around the child's boarding-school schedule

Wardrobe Management

  • Taking responsibility for the children's wardrobes and ensuring clothing is organised, appropriate and well maintained
  • Preparing school uniforms, sportswear, seasonal clothing and outfits as required
  • Ensuring the correct clothing and personal items are available at each property
  • Identifying when clothing or other children's essentials need replacing or replenishing
  • Packing and unpacking as required when the children transition between homes

PA & Organisational Duties

  • Managing and coordinating the children's diaries and weekly schedules
  • Keeping on top of school communications, appointments, activities and commitments
  • Creating a smooth and structured weekly routine for the children
  • Planning ahead and anticipating the family's requirements
  • Ensuring all relevant information is communicated between the two households
  • Coordinating travel, activities and logistics relating to the children
  • Maintaining excellent communication with parents and relevant household staff
  • Helping to ensure that the children's lives remain organised, calm and well coordinated

Requirements

  • Norland-trained is essential
  • Extensive experience working as a professional Nanny within private households
  • Previous experience with school-aged children
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple schedules simultaneously
  • A proactive and forward-thinking approach
  • Confident managing children's diaries, school schedules and extracurricular activities
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently with parents, schools and other professionals
  • Full, clean driving licence is essential
  • Discreet, professional and trustworthy
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work between two family homes
  • A calm and organised approach, particularly when managing busy or changing schedules
  • Genuine interest in the children's development, education and wellbeing
