Live-In Domestic Couple (Full time Gardener/Maintenance - Part time Housekeeper/Gardener)

We are seeking a friendly, experienced, and committed Live-in Domestic Couple to support a single gentleman in his beautiful five-bedroom residence in Chipping Norton.
This is a long-term opportunity for a couple who genuinely enjoy creating a well-run, welcoming home and who take pride in maintaining high standards both inside and out.
The role would suit a couple looking for stability, mutual respect, and a pleasant working environment in a lovely countryside setting.

Salary: £60,000 Gross PA

Accommodation

The successful couple will be provided with a spacious, modern two-bedroom apartment within the grounds, offering:

• Two bedrooms
• Large living room
• Generous bathroom (bath and separate shower)
• Fully private, self-contained space

A couple with a dependant child and/or a pet will be considered for the right applicants.

Role 1: Part-Time Housekeeper/Gardener

Working Schedule: 4 days per week (Monday – Friday, with a day off in the week)  9:30am – 5:30pm
The Housekeeper will be responsible for ensuring the home is maintained to an exceptional standard and runs smoothly day-to-day.

Responsibilities:

Housekeeping & Presentation

• Daily cleaning and upkeep (vacuuming, dusting, polishing, deep cleaning)
• Care of silver and fine furnishings
• Carpet washing (VAX system)
• Curtain steaming approximately every 6–7 months
• Kitchen care including fridge cleaning

Laundry & Linen

• Laundry and ironing using both traditional iron and press iron for bed linen
• Careful handling of quality garments and fabrics

Animal Care

• Daily care of two much-loved pugs (feeding, walking, general care)
• Booking and attending vet and grooming appointments

Household/Gardening Support

• Flower arranging
• Receiving deliveries and answering household calls
• Assisting with light gardening (weeding, planting, vegetables, deadheading)
• Pruning shrubs, roses, climbers, and fruit trees
• Mulching beds

Role 2: Gardener / Maintenance

Working Schedule: Full time, (Monday to Friday)  9:30am – 5:30pm
The Gardener/Maintenance professional will take pride in maintaining the gardens and exterior of the property to a high standard throughout the year.

Responsibilities:

Gardens & Grounds (5 acres)

• Lawn care (mowing, edging, feeding, scarifying)
• Hedge cutting and shaping
• Pruning shrubs, roses, climbers, and fruit trees
• Maintaining the lake and running stream
• Weeding and mulching beds
• Seasonal tidy-ups and leaf clearance
• Pressure washing patios and maintaining gravel driveway
• Irrigation system checks
• Gutter clearance
• Planting trees, flowers, shrubs, vegetables, and wildflowers
• Maintaining garden furniture
• Safe use and maintenance of machinery (ride-on mower, strimmer’s, hedge trimmers)

Swimming Pool

• Cleaning, monitoring, and heating management

General Maintenance

• Basic interior and exterior upkeep (painting, replacing bulbs, minor electrical fixes, replacing filters)
• Maintenance of outdoor gym, garage, and storage
• Monitoring gas, oil, and generator fuel levels
• Liaising with contractors and overseeing works
• Occasional tip runs

Vehicle & Equipment

• Taking car for service and MOT
• General care of tools and equipment

Shared Responsibilities

Animal care will be a shared responsibility between both members of the couple, as the two pugs are an important part of the household.
Both individuals should be comfortable working independently, but also as a supportive team.
