Job Title: Gardener / Houseman
Location: Mayfair, London
Salary: £40,000 (DOE)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 15:00

Our clients, based in Mayfair, are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Gardener/Houseman to assist with the upkeep and maintenance of their high-end private residence. The property features a beautifully designed garden with interconnected patios and terraces, including a variety of potted plants and trees.

This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive individual with strong gardening knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to maintain the property to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• General upkeep and maintenance of garden areas, including patios and terraces
• Cleaning outdoor spaces, including garden furniture and surfaces
• Planting and maintaining seasonal flowers and plants
• Care and maintenance of trees (including bay trees) and potted plants
• Jet washing patios and outdoor areas
• High-standard cleaning duties, including dusting and use of outdoor vacuum equipment
• Restoration and upkeep of outdoor furniture
• Assisting with the installation and assembly of new furniture
• Carrying out basic DIY tasks and supporting landscaping projects
• Tree work and general garden improvements
• Maintaining plants at the front of the property
• Basic maintenance tasks such as changing lightbulbs

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience working in a private household or similar environment
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards of work
• Strong plant knowledge, including seasonal planting and care requirements (sun/shade)
• Understanding of plant sourcing and selection
• Floristry knowledge, including purchasing flowers for the property
• Ability to carry out basic DIY and use tools confidently
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Must be based within a reasonable distance of Mayfair
