We are seeking an experienced, flexible, and detail-oriented Housekeeper / Ladies Maid to join a warm and collaborative private household in South Kensington. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and personable candidate who enjoys working as part of a close-knit, supportive team.

The successful candidate will be joining a well-established household, working alongside the Principal’s Ladies Maid, part-time Housekeeper, and PA team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the home. A calm, “can-do” attitude and a high level of discretion are essential.

Key Responsibilities
Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Daily cleaning and upkeep of the residence to a high standard
• Specialist care and laundering of fine fabrics and household linens, including hand washing delicate items
• Basic sewing and minor repairs
• Packing and unpacking for frequent travel
• Assisting the Ladies Maid with the upkeep of the Principal’s personal suite (bed linen, towels, bathroom care, etc.)
• Managing deliveries, liaising with maintenance, and completing household shopping
• Preparing and serving breakfast, light meals, and snacks as required
• Assisting with informal entertaining
• Supporting wider household operations and maintaining a calm, organised environment
• Travelling with the principal when required

Training will be provided to cover the Ladies Maid role when required, including occasional international travel.

Working Hours

• 5 days per week, including some weekends
• Flexibility is essential, with shifts varying depending on the Principal’s schedule (e.g. 7am–4pm, 9am–6pm, 11am–8pm)
• The Principal travels frequently, so there may be periods of reduced hours or fewer working days

Candidate Requirements

• EU Passport with full UK Settled Status (essential)
• Proven private household experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of luxury fabric care and garment handling
• Excellent attention to detail and high housekeeping standards
• Confident in the kitchen (simple, healthy meal preparation)
• Flexible and willing to travel when required
• Calm, discreet, and proactive with a positive attitude
• Able to work well within a team environment
• Long-term experience in previous roles preferred
• Strictly non-smoker

Household Details

• Single female Principal
• No pets
• Duplex mansion apartment (multiple reception rooms, guest areas, gym, and staff-supported environment)
• Fully staffed household including PAs, Ladies Maid, and additional support staff

Additional Information

• The Principal has specific dietary preferences (no garlic, onions, peppers, chives, or spring onions)
• A confident home cook (non-professional) would be advantageous
