Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced, proactive, and professional Housekeeper/Household Manager to support a private family based in West Dorset. This is a varied and rewarding position for an individual who takes pride in maintaining a well-organised household and is happy to take ownership of the day-to-day running of the home.
The successful candidate will be hands-on, highly organised, flexible in their approach, and comfortable working independently whilst ensuring the household operates efficiently and to the highest standards at all times.
The family reside in a beautiful two-storey property comprising approximately 10 rooms and share their home with four much-loved pets, including two dogs and two cats, therefore applicants must be genuinely pet-friendly and confident caring for animals.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Full housekeeping duties to maintain the property to an exceptional standard
• Laundry and ironing, including the care of delicate and specialist garments where required
• Daily organisation and upkeep of all household areas
• Preparing and cooking meals for the two principals
• Dog walking and the general care and wellbeing of the family's pets
• Liaising and coordinating with tradespeople, contractors, and external service providers
• Monitoring household supplies and ensuring the home remains fully stocked and organised
• Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the household
• Taking ownership of household operations and identifying areas for improvement where appropriate
• Remaining in residence to oversee the property and care for the pets during periods when the family are travelling

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working within a private household in a similar position
• Confident working independently and managing priorities effectively
