A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and team-oriented Housekeeper / Laundress to join a warm, welcoming, and highly professional household team within a beautiful private residence near Andover, Hampshire.

This is a varied role with an even split between housekeeping and laundry duties, ideal for a candidate who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards throughout a busy private home.

The property is a substantial 10-bedroom residence used for both private family stays and entertaining, particularly during the busy shooting season. Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping Duties

• Maintaining immaculate cleanliness and presentation throughout the property
• Daily housekeeping of bedrooms, bathrooms, reception rooms, and guest areas
• Deep cleaning and seasonal housekeeping tasks
• Assisting with preparation for guests and entertaining
• Supporting the wider housekeeping team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Laundry Duties

• Washing, ironing, steaming, and pressing garments and household linens
• Caring for delicate and high-end fabrics with attention to detail
• Organising wardrobes and linen storage areas
• Managing laundry processes efficiently during busy periods

Working Schedule

• The household operates on a seasonal schedule

Off-Season (February – September)

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00am – 4:00pm

During the off-season, the principals typically visit the property approximately two days per month, allowing the team to focus on maintenance, organisation, and preparation.

Shooting Season (October – January)

During the busy shooting season, longer shifts are required to support the increased activity and entertaining schedule. Staff work approximately 12-hour shifts on a rota basis, including:

• Morning shift starting from 6:00am
• Afternoon/evening shift finishing around midnight

The household expands during shooting season with additional temporary housekeeping and laundry staff joining the permanent team.

The Team
Fully staffed household. Off-season staffing includes:

• 5 Housekeepers
• 2 Laundresses

During shooting season, the team expands with an additional:

• 5 Temporary Housekeepers
• 2 Temporary Laundresses

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience within a private household, luxury hospitality, or similar high-standard environment
• Strong housekeeping and laundry skills
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards of presentation
• Positive, flexible, and team-focused attitude
• Comfortable working longer hours during peak season
• Discreet, professional, and reliable
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment during busy periods
