Housekeeping couple required.

Principals - a single couple with multiple fully staffed properties in Europe and overseas.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Housekeeper and Houseman for a long-term role within a beautiful private country house, set in 30 acres of grounds on the Leicestershire/Warwickshire borders. The principals are a couple with multiple fully staffed homes in Europe and overseas.

The successful candidates will have proven private household experience of working together for UHNW employers, a meticulous eye for detail, and a flexible, positive attitude. You will ensure the property is always maintained to an exceptional standard and provide a seamless service to the principals.

Reporting to the principals direct you must be dog-friendly, as occasional assistance with the owners’ dogs will be required. This is a Monday–Friday role with weekends off when the principals are not in residence. Flexibility is required when they are in residence. Time in lieu given when accumulated. There is another couple also employed to share the workload and ensure each couple have two days off per week.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeper Duties

  • Full range of housekeeping duties – dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas
  • Laundry and bed linen care, including delicate fabrics and fine materials
  • Ironing and wardrobe management
  • Seasonal deep cleaning and care of delicate antiques, art, glass, and china
  • Assisting chef with kitchen duties and grocery deliveries
  • Ordering and restocking household supplies
  • Arranging flowers from estate gardens and glasshouse
  • Supporting with service when entertaining guests
  • Post-contractor clean-up and general household organisation
  • Liaising regularly with principals

Houseman Duties

When principals are not in residence

  • Mowing lawns and general weeding assisting gardeners when requested
  • General outside work within the Estate as required - Overseeing contractors
  • Driving duties as requested. Clean licence required
  • Making sure any on-site vehicles are ready for service and cleaned
  • General household maintenance/DIY
  • Layup and cleaning of house fires ready for arrivals
  • Cleaning brass and silver when required
  • Other duties as directed
  • Happy to run errands
  • Airport pickups and train station pickups when required
  • Car provided for work related travel TBC
  • Liaising regularly with principals

When principals are in residence

  • Assisting housekeeper with in-house tasks
  • Serving at table (formal and informal)
  • Other duties as directed

Candidate Requirements

  • Excellent verifiable references with a consistent employment history
  • Previous experience of working together in a private household for UHNW employers
  • High levels of discretion, trustworthiness, and reliability
  • Adaptable and flexible “can-do” attitude
  • Experience with alarms, household systems, and IT equipment (advantageous)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Competent with Microsoft Word and email
  • Willingness to take responsibility for security and alarm response

Package & Benefits

  • Salary £65,000 per annum (DOE) plus benefits
  • Offsite 4-bedroom fully furnished house in a local village with a garden and garage, this is provided with council tax and all utilities covered. Extras like broadband ,TV licence, (Sky etc.) to be paid by employee
