A wonderful opportunity for an experienced Domestic Couple to work on the beautiful island of Jersey. Our clients are requiring a friendly, experienced Live-in Domestic Couple for their large residence.

The estate will be going through extensive renovations over the next few years, and the principals would like the Couple to join them on the journey. The family consist of 2 principals and 3 children (2 children are living/working in the UK).

Estate Manager – duties required, not limited to:

• Managing a team of up to 4 estate workers
• Maintaining the upkeep of the grounds (including pasture, woodland, and domestic curtilage)
• Managing & liaising contractors and sub-contractors
• Overseeing and assisting the gardening team with kitchen garden, lawns and planting
• Driving tractors, pickup trucks etc; working knowledge of machinery including chainsaws would be an advantage
• Providing & maintaining security of the estate and regularly checking the perimeters - being the eyes and ears (good knowledge and understanding of security systems)
• Providing weekly reports of the estate activity, planning for the week ahead and working to a budget
• General ad-hoc duties
• Providing ad-hoc animal care of the family dog

Housekeeper - duties required, not limited to:

• Overseeing and managing the interior of the residence
• Daily cleaning to an agreed rota
• Knowledge of fine fabrics, care labels
• Excellent level of laundry
• Excellent standards of ironing
• Washing, mopping, and vacuuming
• Good level of cooking/preparing meals for the family
• Shopping for groceries
• Preparing for the arrival and departure of family members
• Providing ad hoc animal care (dog)

Couple Requirements:

• Looking for a long-term position that offers stability
• Proven longevity in previous roles
• Previous experience working at a private estate
• IT literate, ability to write reports and work to a budget (Estate Manager)
• Chainsaw/garden machinery certified would be desirable
• Excellent team players
• Flexible, amenable, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
• Able to use initiative but also happy to follow instruction
• Accepting of all passport holders
• Full clean driving licence
• A small dog or cat will be considered
• A Couple with no children is preferred

Accommodation: A beautiful 2.5-bedroom separate semi-detached cottage, including reception room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and shower room. Own garden provided. Utilities included (Broadband, phone and TV licence excluded)

Days of work: Monday – Friday; there will be a requirement to work the occasional weekend when the family are due to travel, or when family are staying. TOIL will be provided

Hours: Housekeeper – 9.00am–5.00pm. Estate Manager – Winter months, 8.00am-4.00pm; Summer months, 6.00am-2.30pm

Salary: Circa £70,000 - £80,000 subject to experience.  Discretionary bonus.
