We are seeking an exceptional and genuinely like-minded Domestic Couple to join a unique private family estate near Ivybridge, South Devon.

This is not a conventional domestic couple position. While the practical responsibilities will encompass housekeeping, household management, cooking, estate support, gardening and general maintenance, the principals place significantly greater importance on finding people who naturally align with their lifestyle, values and outlook.

The family live a highly environmentally conscious, plant-based and holistic lifestyle. They have a deep appreciation for nature, sustainability and living from the land, and are looking for a couple who genuinely share or feel strongly connected to these principles.

The successful couple should be practical, adaptable and comfortable working collaboratively rather than having rigidly defined individual roles. There will be a real sense of everyone contributing to the household and estate as required.

The family live in a beautiful rural woodland setting surrounded by Grade II-listed farm buildings and land.

Responsibilities may include:

• Housekeeping and maintaining the home to an excellent standard
• General household and estate management
• Plant-based cooking and food preparation
• Traditional food preservation, including pickling, drying and appropriate food storage
• An interest in foraging, seasonal produce and making use of food grown or sourced from the land
• Gardening and supporting the upkeep of the surrounding land
• Practical maintenance, including fences and general estate tasks
• Working collaboratively with the principals and wider household
• Helping maintain an organised, environmentally conscious and sustainable home

The ideal couple will be:

Working pattern: Approximately five days per week / standard full-time hours. Predominantly Monday–Friday, although flexibility is essential and the principals are more focused on a balanced working week than rigidly fixed days.

Salary: Circa £70,000 combined, dependent on experience and suitability.

Accommodation: Live-in accommodation provided.
