Masseuse / Massage Therapist

We are seeking a professional and experienced Masseuse / Massage Therapist to provide high-quality massage and body treatments, promoting relaxation, relieving muscle tension and supporting clients’ overall well-being. The successful candidate will have excellent massage techniques, knowledge of body treatments and a strong commitment to client comfort, safety, confidentiality and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide a range of professional massage treatments, including Swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy, hot stone and other techniques within the therapist’s qualifications
• Assess clients’ needs, preferences and physical concerns before each treatment, recommending suitable services based on their requirements and the treatments available
• Monitor client comfort throughout each session and adjust techniques or pressure as required
• Prepare treatment rooms, massage beds, oils, towels and equipment before and after each appointment
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, comfortable and welcoming treatment environment, following all health, safety, hygiene and sanitation procedures
• Ensure client privacy, dignity, confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
• Maintain accurate client records and treatment notes where required
• Manage appointments efficiently, ensuring treatments begin and finish on time
• Deliver excellent customer service and contribute to a positive, relaxing client experience
• Inform the supervisor of any equipment issues, hygiene concerns or client incidents
• Participate in training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of massage techniques and wellness practices

Massage Treatments and Body Therapies
The successful candidate may be required to provide a range of treatments, depending on their qualifications, experience and the services offered:

• Swedish Massage: Gentle, relaxing massage using long strokes and light-to-medium pressure to relieve tension and promote relaxation.
• Deep Tissue Massage: Slower strokes and firmer pressure to address deeper muscle tension and tight areas.
• Aromatherapy Massage: Massage techniques combined with appropriately diluted essential oils to create a relaxing sensory experience.
• Hot Stone Massage: The use of warmed stones as part of a relaxing massage treatment, following appropriate temperature and safety precautions.
• Foot Massage and Reflexology: Foot massage and pressure techniques, with reflexology offered only where the therapist has suitable training.
• Thai Massage: Assisted stretching, movement and pressure techniques, requiring specific training.
• Prenatal Massage: Treatments adapted for pregnant clients, with appropriate positioning and precautions. Specialised training is recommended.
• Body Scrubs and Spa Body Treatments: Body exfoliation, moisturising treatments and body wraps, where these form part of the treatment menu and the therapist is suitably trained.

Candidate Requirements
Relevant massage therapy certification, diploma or professional training.

• Previous experience in a spa, wellness centre, hotel or massage clinic is preferred
• Good knowledge of massage techniques, anatomy and basic contraindications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong customer service and client-care skills
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality
• High standards of personal hygiene, grooming and professional presentation
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, where required
