Our clients are seeking a Part-time Housekeeper to help care for their home in a respectful, thoughtful, and detail-oriented manner.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 11.00am–1.00pm
Salary: £20 GPH

Main Duties:

• General cleaning
• Laundry and ironing
• Occasional light meal prep (eg helping to chop vegetables for dinner)
• Light household maintenance (eg changing light bulbs, setting moth traps)
• Care of cashmere garments - dry cleaned and properly stored during the off-season
• Carefully dusting and caring for fine art, including pots and paintings
• Helping to plan and host occasional dinner parties (eg laying the table)
• Polishing silverware
• Liaising with local tradespeople to mend curtains, reupholster furniture, etc
• Maintaining the property whilst the principals are travelling, and managing the alarm system
• Running local errands (eg grocery shopping, posting packages, dropping off and picking up dry cleaning or clothing alterations)

Future Duties:

• Cleaning and resetting the Airbnb for the next guests - in approximately six months to a year, our clients are planning on turning their guest cottage into an Airbnb that will only be rented out during the months of January, March, and October
• Taking care of the animals when the principals are away - they do not currently have any animals but plan to get a few over the years: cats, a dog, chickens, and possibly donkeys
• The clients are typically away for the months of March and October; they also take frequent week-long trips

Essential Qualities:

• Privacy and professionalism: the family require their homelife to remain completely private, and so the utmost professionalism is required
• Care and respect: Whilst this is a professional role, the clients will consider you part of the family and hope you will treat their home, family members, and guests with the same care and respect
• Discretion and attention to detail: they very much value someone who enjoys noticing and tending to every little detail, and has the ability to work quietly in the background
• Ability to work with fine art and delicate fabrics: there are many precious pieces of fine art in the home, mostly pots and paintings, as well as delicate fabrics

Requirements:

• 3 to 4 years' experience working in private homes
• You will need your own car and a valid drivers license to run local errands
