Part-Time Housekeeper

Location: SW2, London (Near Clapham)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 11:00am / 12:00pm
Commitment: 15–20 hours per week
Position: Permanent, part-time
Salary: £25 per hour gross (DOE)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, organised and detail-oriented housekeeper to help maintain our family home in South West London.
The ideal candidate will take pride in keeping a home clean, tidy and well organised, and be comfortable managing their daily responsibilities independently.
This is a housekeeping role only. No childcare, cooking or food preparation is required.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning & Housekeeping

• General daily cleaning of the home, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
• Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and cleaning surfaces
• Regular deep cleaning of specific areas on a rotating schedule
• Changing bed linen and making beds
• Emptying bins and maintaining general cleanliness throughout the home

Tidying & Organisation

• Keeping rooms tidy and organised
• Putting away items and maintaining organised cupboards, drawers and storage areas
• Ensuring the home is consistently clean, presentable and well maintained

Laundry & Clothing Care

• Washing, drying and folding clothes
• Ironing and steaming clothes as required
• Putting clean clothes away in the correct wardrobes and drawers
• Changing and washing towels and bed linen
• Following garment care instructions for delicate items

Household Supplies

• Monitoring stocks of cleaning products, laundry detergents and other housekeeping essentials
• Maintaining an organised supply cupboard
• Informing us when supplies need replenishing and arranging replacements where agreed
• Ensuring all equipment and supplies needed for housekeeping are readily available

Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience cleaning or housekeeping in a private home
• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
• Excellent attention to detail and high cleaning standards
• Organised, proactive and able to work independently
• Confident with laundry, ironing and garment care
• Respectful of family privacy and personal belongings
• Able to provide references from previous employers

What We're Looking For

The family are looking for someone who will take ownership of the day-to-day housekeeping, notice what needs doing without constant instruction, and help ensure the house runs smoothly.
The goal is to have a consistently clean, tidy and organised home, with all cleaning, laundry, ironing and household supply management taken care of.
