Overview

An international family based in Doha is seeking an experienced, results-driven SAT Tutor with strong knowledge of the American education system to provide holistic academic support to two students who have recently transitioned from a French education system to an American curriculum.

This is a key role for a passionate educator who can guide the children academically while supporting a smooth and confident transition into a new system, expectations, and learning style. The family values clear structure, efficiency, and measurable academic progress, without overwhelming the children with excessive study hours.

The family may consider appointing two tutors (eg one for Maths/Science, and one for Language Arts/Humanities) depending on candidate suitability.

Children’s Profiles

Child 1 – 8th Grade (Male)

• Requires all-subject, overall academic support
• Focus on strengthening foundations and preparing for high school transition
• Support adapting to the US curriculum, assessment styles, and expectations

Child 2 – High School (Female)

• Will begin SAT examinations in early June
• Requires tailored 1:1 support with:
• SAT (and potentially ACT) preparation
• AP coursework
• Advanced Mathematics and Trigonometry
• Language Arts,essay writing, and critical literary analysis
• Need guidance adapting to new learning approached, particularly in areas such as maths, science, and critical analysis in literature

Client Goals

• Support the children through a significant educational transition
• Help them develop independent study skills, while providing close guidance during this phase
• Provide holistic academic oversight, identifying gaps and focusing efforts where they are most needed
• Ensure the older child receives highly tailored 1:1 preparation for AP courses, SAT, and potentially ACT
• Simplify concepts clearly and effectively
• Work collaboratively with the school, which is already supportive and engaged

Role & Responsibilities

• Deliver structured academic support aligned with the US curriculum
• Provide certified SAT (and ACT, if required) preparation using proven methodologies
• Support AP coursework and advanced subject material
• Simplify complex concepts to ensure deep understanding, without unnecessary daily study hours
• Encourage confidence, motivation, and engagement
• Help students develop effective and independent study habits
• Identify academic gaps and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
• Track progress and demonstrate measurable academic improvement
• Liaise with school teachers as required
• Occasionally visit the children’s school to ensure alignment and communication

Tutor Profile & Requirements

• Proven experience tutoring within the American education system
• Extensive experience with SAT, ACT, AP, and standardised testing
• Demonstrable track record of delivering consistently strong or guaranteed results
• Ability to follow certified preparation plans or methodologies that produce top marks
• Highly skilled at simplifying concepts and teaching efficiently
• Passionate, inspiring, and student-focused
• Comfortable working holistically during educational transitions
• Organised, professional, proactive, and communicative
• Willing to collaborate closely with parents and school staff
• Non-Arabic speaking
