Overview

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven SAT Tutor with strong knowledge of the US education system to provide holistic academic support to two students who have recently transitioned from a French education system into an American curriculum. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate Educator to play a key role in supporting both academic success and a smooth educational transition within a well-supported international household.

Children’s Profiles

Child 1 – 8th Grade (Male)

  • Requires all-subject, overall academic support
  • Focus on strengthening foundations and supporting a smooth transition into high school
  • Needs guidance adapting to the US curriculum and learning styles

Child 2 – High School (Female)

  • Will begin SAT examinations in early June
  • Requires support with:
  • AP courses
  • Advanced mathematics and trigonometry
  • Language arts and essay preparation
  • SAT (and potentially ACT) preparation

Requires tailored 1:1 tuition to prepare for standardised testing and advanced coursework

Both children need all-round academic and study-skills support as they adapt to a new system, new expectations, and different approaches to subjects such as maths, science, and critical literary analysis.

Role & Responsibilities

Please note: The family may consider appointing two Tutors (eg one for maths/science, and one for language arts/humanities) depending on candidate suitability.

Tutor Profile & Requirements

  • Provide structured academic support aligned with the US curriculum
  • Deliver certified SAT (and ACT, if required) preparation programmes using proven methodologies that consistently deliver strong results
  • Support AP coursework and advanced subject material
  • Simplify complex concepts and ensure deep understanding without excessive daily study hours
  • Help students develop independent study skills while providing close guidance during this transition phase
  • Identify academic gaps and adapt teaching strategies accordingly (client is aware of some gaps and will share once the right candidate is in place)
  • Track progress and provide measurable academic improvement
  • Build confidence, motivation, and engagement through inspiring teaching
  • Liaise with school teachers as required
  • May need to visit the children’s school from time to time to ensure alignment and communication
  • Proven experience tutoring within the American education system
  • Extensive experience with SAT, ACT, AP, and standardised testing
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering guaranteed or consistently high academic results
  • Ability to follow certified preparation plans or methodologies that produce top marks
  • Highly skilled at simplifying concepts and teaching efficiently
  • Passionate, inspiring, and student-focused
  • Comfortable working holistically with students during educational transitions
  • Organised, professional, and proactive
  • Non-Arabic speaking
  • Willing to collaborate closely with parents and school staff

Accommodation, Holidays & Benefits

  • A two-bedroom apartment provided, shared with one other Tutor
  • Potential progression to a private, non-shared apartment if the client is highly satisfied
  • 45 days of annual leave per year
  • Return flight ticket provided once every two years
  • Comprehensive health insurance provided by the client
  • Transportation arranged between accommodation and workplace (both directions)
